5 Kitchen Remodeling Trends NJ Homeowners Love in 2026

From warm wood tones to integrated appliances — what's driving NJ kitchens this year.

Kitchens in 2026 are getting warmer, quieter, and smarter. After years of cool greys and stark whites, NJ homeowners are leaning into texture, natural materials, and rooms that feel as good to live in as they look. Here are the five trends we're installing most this year.

1. Warm wood tones make a comeback

White oak, walnut, and rift-cut cabinetry are replacing painted shaker fronts in many of our Ridgefield and Bergen County projects. Homeowners want warmth and grain — not glossy uniformity. Pair with a honed quartzite counter and the room instantly feels grounded.

2. Fully integrated appliances

Panel-ready refrigerators, dishwashers, and even hood vents disappear into the cabinetry. The result is a calmer, more architectural kitchen where the eye lands on materials, not logos.

3. Statement range hoods

When the appliances vanish, the hood becomes the jewelry. Plaster, hand-formed metal, and reeded wood hoods are the single most-requested upgrade in our 2026 estimates.

4. Hidden prep kitchens

A small back-of-house pantry with a second sink, microwave, and coffee station keeps the main kitchen photo-ready. It's the upgrade hosts wish they'd done years ago.

5. Layered, dimmable lighting

Three layers — ambient, task, and accent — on separate dimmers transforms how a kitchen feels at 7am vs. 7pm. We wire every project this way now; it costs little and changes everything.
